Power steering pressure hose replacement/ O Ring

I purchased a new power steering pressure hose from BJ 's and I am not sure if I need to put O Rings on before installing. They did not come with any new ones. It also came with a yellow plug, but not sure what purpose that used.

Since you have a 1979 Jeep you don't have o-ring connections for your steering. 1979 was the last year of the flared fittings.

The yellow piece is a cover so when you attach one end of the power steering line you put that yellow cover over the other end and fish it in where you need it to go and then remove it. It keeps the crud out.
