Just purchased a 1983 J20 with manual 4 speed - Engine Swap Suggestions

I just scored a super nice 83 J20 from Texas. I would like to do a 5.3 swap. Does anyone have any feedback on utilizing that Borg 4 speed transmission with a 5.3L? Also, has anyone used an auxiliary bed gas tank to assist with the fuel injection? The truck only has 91K miles and has been sitting up for a few years. Anyone suggest just get the 360 going and drive it? I would like something that I can just get in drive. Do not plan on wheeling this truck too hard. I have had too many issues with old CJ carbs not running right in the past and would like to have fuel injection. Thanks for any feedback.

if you are going to do a 5.3L swap, the most benefit comes from also installing an overdrive trans. I wouldn't keep the stock set up if you are going to the trouble of a conversion anyway.
