Awesome. Jeep has mostly sat for several years and now the window doesn't go down, so I need to find out what the culpret is, and curious about the availability of a motor before I even get started.

      Thanks for the info.

a few places to check on non-working tailgates:

        1. dash switch
        2. rear key switch
        3. safety switch (little bent arm on driver side of tailgate)

Messed with it a little earlier, and got it to go down (slowly), but doesn't want to go up now - from either switch.

Does the tail gate lever only keep it from going one direction?

I guess we'll have to tear into and see. I never really liked using the tailgate due to wear and tear on the thing, and always cringed at the thought of it getting stuck down...which it is now.

BTW, I thought I signed up to this board a few years ago? Does it delete inactive members?

No, we don't currently have it set to delete members.

On the safety switch, it prevents both directions. That means your problem is most likely the motor.

Had one of my guys take the panel off the rear and may have just been a poor connection, but the channel that the rear glass rides in is rusting out. Does anyone sell this? Also would need the mounting clips or whatever mounts it to the regulator.

I'm ashamed to say I hadn't. I ended up getting one oredered through the chrysler dealer I use for parts for my shop. (I have an auto repair shop)

I'll definately be looking at your site again soon. Lots of stuff I'll need.
