Ok long story. I'll tell you the problem first, then I'll list what I've done to the motor. I just ran my amc360 for the first time in 7 years. I hear a very loud chatter from both valve covers. Depending on how the motor is oriented, with the drivers valve cover off for a closer look, 2 rockers are very loose (yes all the bolts are torqued to 240in/lbs.) With play side to side and up and down, i can even twist/rotate them. I can grasp the pushrod under said rocker and move it up and down about an eighth of an inch. I rebuilt the top end of the motor. 78 wagoneer with 77k miles on it. Drove it every day before rebuild. By that I mean sent the heads off for deck, port and polish, "three angle valve job", blast, paint, magnaflux. Springs, pushrods, and rockers original. Summit k8600 cam and lifters. Edelbrock timing chain. Summit hei dizzy, edelbrock intake and carb. I'm happy to answer any questions.
