  • Do I really need the York Compressor

I was reading some tech articles on fuel milage and engine swaps. Someone mentioned the york AC compressor was a HP robber and when you switched compressors you could easily switch to a Honda compressor that didn't take much HP away from the engine.

I have removed my smog gear so it could mount at the old Air Pump position. I don't have a serpentine belt so a new pulley would be in order. Has anyone done this?

most folks use the York or the Sanden. The York does take more HP, but with an FSJ, it's not like it makes much of a difference anyway. Also, the York can be turned upright with a special bracket, add a filter and you have an on-board air compressor, and you can then use a sanden for a/c purposes.
