  • AC O-Ring Kit

    Hey All,

I took down my AC hoses from the inner fenders for paint and there was no refrigerant to speak of in my system. When i put it back i figure i should at least replace the O-Rings, Oil and new 134A refrigerant.

If anyone has done this could you give me a heads up on any pitfalls you ran into. Even the new refrigerant is about $60 to fill it up. Hate to lose it over a silly gasket or something. What O-Ring sizes and gaskets for 82' Grand wagoneer. Thanks Guys

Since your FSJ is an '82, it originally came with R12. You will need a conversion kit to run it on 134a.

if you do convert, you'll also need to drain the compressor and add the correct amount of PAG oil. You can do a search at www.ifsja.org and there are a lot of threads on it covering parts, costs, tips & tricks.

        Thanks Brent,

I had time to read the blogs on the conversion. It goes from simple to replace everything. I've got time to ponder the solution a bit before I'm back from paint.
